self-evaluation template
We have a MS Word form to
use to type in the probationer's self-evaluation organized by
the college-wide tenure criteria.
- If your TWC wants examples of which criteria they can cover in which quarters, please see Tenure Criteria by Quarter - Possible Schedule. This only an example; not a requirement.
Tenure Working Committee (TWC) Handbook
The TWC Handbook provides probationers and TWC members with answers to commonly-asked questions. It is a living document updated by the TRC. Email the TRC chair/co-chairs with any questions not addressed by the TWC Handbook.
Items Related to Class Observations
Class observations should be based on the six sub-criteria of
the Faculty Effectiveness tenure criteria. An individual
observer can choose to focus on one or two sub-criteria for one
class observation, as long as all the sub-criteria are observed
during the course of the academic year.
Observations will include 2-3 observations per quarter,
including at least one observation per year by each team member.
To facilitate proper evaluation, an attempt should be made to
ensure that all classes are observed by team members.
In-Person Observations
-
TRC recommends using the
appropriate updated PLAID rubrics for
In-person
classes and
Online
Synchronous classes.
-
Alternatively, use the class observation form from the
Teaching Effectiveness course.
Online Observations
-
TWC should use the updated PLAID rubric
for
Asynchronous
Online classes
-
The PLAID Quick Guide gives an excellent overview of the PLAID criteria.
